You unlock the door, and the first thing that greets you is calm. No TV, no traffic noise, just the warm smell of solid wood and, when the window is open, birds singing at the forest edge. Waldwunder is not a house that tries to win you over with decor. It leaves space: for you, for the others, for the view outside.
And that view is the reason most guests linger up here: in the living gallery you sit in a large window seat with two armchairs beside you and look over the village rooftops into the valley. The plot has a twelve-metre difference in height, and the house makes full use of it.

Waldwunder is in Montabaur-Reckenthal, a village of 114 inhabitants with old half-timbered houses. The Gelbachtrail and the Sculpture Trail begin right at your door. Eight to ten minutes away you can stroll and shop; Koblenz and the Middle Rhine Valley, the Lahn Valley or the Westerwald Lake District are 25 to 30 minutes away.

Waldwunder sleeps up to four guests. Across 60 m² and two levels there are two bedrooms, each with a double bed (1.60 × 2.00 m), and an additional sleeping space in the living gallery. The base price covers two people; each additional guest costs €25 per night. For babies, we provide high chairs or a cot on request.
Waldwunder stands right at the forest edge in the nature park, in Montabaur-Reckenthal in the Westerwald. The Sculpture Trail starts at your door. The solid timber house is deliberately oriented towards the forest: the living gallery with its large window seat looks over the rooftops into the valley.
Yes. The sauna house “Hitzekiste” belongs to both holiday homes and is included in the daily rate, with no extra charge and no fixed times. You heat it up whenever you feel like it. Panoramic window into the forest, then a rain shower or Kneipp hose. We provide bathrobes and towels.
There is deliberately no TV; the idea is that nothing distracts you. Wi-Fi is available, but with a switch you can consciously turn off. That way you decide how offline your holiday in the house will be.
No, pets are not allowed. We keep the houses free of animal hair for all guests, including allergy sufferers. There are dog-friendly alternatives in the area; just ask us and we’ll recommend good places.
Bookings are made directly through this website, not through portals. The minimum stay is three nights, with arrival from 3:00 PM. After your request, we confirm personally, then you secure your dates with a 50% deposit. Arrival is contactless via a key box, and you’ll receive the code by email in advance.

Nils ist Schreiner und Architekt – er hat das Waldwunder selbst entworfen und gebaut. Caro kümmert sich um alles rund um deinen Aufenthalt, von der Anreise-Mail bis zur Willkommensbox, die ihre Mama noch selbst packt. Wir sind bewusst nicht vor Ort, wenn du ankommst – damit du in Ruhe ankommen kannst. Erreichbar sind wir trotzdem jederzeit.
