Reckenthal
In the middle of the natural Gelbach valley is Reckenthal - a pretty, sleepy village, which is also a district of the district town of Montabaur in the southern part of the Westerwald.
The historic center of the village is adorned with half-timbered buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries. Reckenthal is known for its sculpture hiking trail: lined with the tree trunk sculptures of various artists, it leads through the middle of the Gelbach valley past the KLEINE BLEIBE in the Tannenweg.
Host
"Vacation - that means relaxation and regeneration. But most of the time, even on vacation, we are driven by ourselves: The pressure to always have to experience something, to create special moments and, best of all, to capture them, is often no less stressful than the everyday life we want to escape. We want to change that - and introduce you to a whole new kind of vacation culture with KLEINE BLEIBE.
Over and over again in recent years, we have experienced for ourselves how good it feels to really break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and find ourselves in the seclusion of nature. And after own experiences with architecture accommodations it was then no further step up to our decision:
We create a LITTLE LODGE (KLEINE BLEIBE) for our guests!
Nils is an architect and trained carpenter, Caro is a trained hotel manager and project manager in the field of events and marketing - the perfect combination to make our dream come true. We bought the property in Reckenthal and from then on worked day and night on ideas, designs and details.
Despite all the hurdles, we made no compromises in the implementation - and thus created the KLEINE BLEIBE that we had always dreamed of: An honest place where the highest level of modern building and vacation culture creates a quiet zone where you can feel comfortable and grounded.
We look forward to seeing you!"
Sustainability
The KLEINE BLEIBE lives and loves nature - and wants to exist in harmony with it, not at its expense. Modern construction and green tourism offer many fields of action to operate vacation homes in a sustainable and resource-saving way. From energy generation and material selection to travel planning and cleaning, we have made the best possible use of the following fields of action for us:
Booking processing
All booking processing is done exclusively digitally. This is how we jointly reduce emissions for print products.
Travel
A good connection to the ICE train station Montabaur allows for an environmentally friendly journey.
E-mobility
We support sustainable travel mobility by providing our guests with an e-charging station for electric cars.
Plant watering
All plants on the property are watered with collected rainwater. In this way, valuable drinking water is not wasted and the collected rainwater returns to the natural cycle.
Heating
Hot water is heated by means of a regenerative air-water heat pump. Such a pump produces up to four times more energy than is needed to produce it - emission-free and without combustion residues.
Regional energy sources
We use 100% green electricity. The energy is generated directly from the region through wind, water, solar and biogas energy.
We have deliberately chosen the Westerwald region: Here you will experience a quiet natural landscape far away from the noise of industry and traffic zones. Flora and fauna are especially cared for and protected here, so that you can experience nature without commercially motivated interventions.
Construction
Walls, ceilings, roofs and facades are made of high-quality solid wood elements, these remain exposed. Wood is a renewable raw material with a good ecological balance. It is fully recyclable and, as a building material, also creates space for new trees - and thus further CO² stores. In addition, wood has a low thermal conductivity as well as good insulating properties and is therefore suitable for energy-efficient construction methods.
Tableware from Westerwald ceramics
Our kitchenware, such as plates, bowls and cups, has been lovingly designed by an artist from Frankfurt and produced by hand together with a ceramic manufactory from Westerwald. The Kannenbäckerland in the Westerwald is Germany's most famous clay and ceramics region and each piece of tableware is unique, made of 100% ceramic stone from our Region.
Bedroom textiles
The bed mattresses were handmade in Greece and are made of three natural and renewable raw materials: natural rubber, horsehair and coconut fibers. The mattress covers and the bed and pillow covers are made of organic cotton. The comforters are filled with virgin wool and the pillows with natural rubber flakes. Experienced craftsmen manufacture the bed materials using a traditional carpentry process that is particularly gentle on the environment and the ecosystem.
Outdoor facilities
In the outdoor facilities, we paid special attention to surface paving so that rainwater seeps away on the property and does not enter the sewage system.
Bathroom textiles
The bathroom textiles such as towels and bathrobes are from proven fair trade production and are made exclusively of organic cotton. They are free of harmful substances and suitable for allergy sufferers. In this area we work with a selected producer who lives the standards of GOTS and FAIRTRADE. The organic cotton is obtained using organic seeds, ecological management of the fields and is manufactured under fair working conditions and an environmentally and socially responsible process. The sustainability is demonstrated along every station of the entire value chain.
Environmentally friendly production
Interior elements such as pillow textiles and consumables such as soap or dishwashing detergent are obtained from organic and environmentally friendly production.
